The Five Fastest Jaguar Cars in History

Luxury, looks, and speed are all fine qualities to have in an automobile. Jaguars are known for being some of the most luxurious cars in the world, but they are also some of the fastest. With speeds exceeding 220 mph, the Jaguar can be a fun car to own. The following are the top five fastest Jaguar cars.

#5: 1990 Jaguar XJR-15 6 litre V12 RWD – 191 MPH

In 1990, the Jaguar XJR-15 was known as the fastest road car that was customized for the racetrack. With 450 horsepower and the ability to hit 62 in only 4.05 seconds, the car ranks as number five in the fastest Jaguars. While it may not be the most attractive of the Jaguar line, it was an impressive model in the 1990s and was even purchased by 20 rich people and the racer that won the race won one of the cars.

#4: 2010 Jaguar C-X75 Concept 4 electric motors AWD – 205 MPH

When people think of electric cars, they don’t think of sexy cars. The 2010 Jaguar C-X75 Concept car was one of the sexiest electric cars even invented. With the ability to hit 205 mph, it’s also one of the fastest Jaguars. With 780 horsepower and the ability to hit 62 in 3.4 seconds, it’s hard to believe that this was an electric car.

#3: 2003 Jaguar XF10 Concept 7 litre V10 RWD – 210 MPH

Another concept car that was known for its speed was the 2003 Jaguar XF10. The car was styled in a rich, tech-savvy manner that would appeal to budding tech entrepreneurs. With 646 horsepower and the ability to hit 62 in 3.8 seconds, this was another powerful and fast car that just couldn’t make it past being a concept.

#2: 1991 Jaguar XJ220 3.5 litre V6 AWD – 220 MPH

The 1991 Jaguar XJ220 is more reminiscent to a Ferrari than a Jaguar, which may have had a thing or two to do with the fast speed. It was sleek and built for speed with lines that wouldn’t get held back by the wind. With 500 horsepower and the ability to hit 62 in 4.1 seconds, this model proved that looks really do matter.

#1: 1994 Jaguar XJ220S TWR 3.5 litre V6 RWD – 229 MPH

Yet another Jaguar that was similar to the Ferrari was the 1994 Jaguar XJ220S TWR. As the fastest Jaguar model at 229 mph, the style of a fine sports car proved to put the car ahead of the game. With 680 horsepower, the car could hit 62 in only 3.3 seconds.

Jaguar cars are known for luxury, but speed is also a strong point. While you may never need to hit speeds of over 200 miles per hour, it’s nice knowing that you can. Jaguar continues to produce high-speed vehicles, but most of the fastest models were produced in the 1990s and maybe it really did have to do with style rather than engine power. Either way, Jaguar is one of the best known luxury vehicles when it comes to speed.
