When you go to a hairdresser you will either end up extremely pleased or very disappointed and it can be a bit of a gamble.
Some people have a hairdresser that they know well and love and who knows what to do with their hair to make it look its best. However, if they move away or you do, then you can be in a real fix and there are people who have never found that perfect hairdresser to start with.
One way to start is to speak to people who have hair that you like the look of and find out where they got it done. This is best if they have the same hair type as you as sometimes hairdressers are better at dealing with certain types of hair.
Check Out Salons
Another idea is to look through the windows of the salons and look at the hairstyles of the staff that work there and see if you like those. Also look at the customers who come out and see what theirs are like as well.
You should be able to get an idea about a salon from just looking at it. From looking at the people who are working there, the design of the place and the prices, you will know how stylish it is. You may be just after a quick trim and then any place would be able to do that and you could save money by going somewhere cheap. However, you may be looking for a complete restyle and this could be worth paying more money for. If you are having a cut and colour, then the price will add up, but if you go to a cheap place, then you could end up disappointed with the results. It can be a gamble, because you may be disappointed, even if you pay a lot of money.
Do Some Research
If you are after a particular look, then it could be a good idea to take in some pictures of what you want to your hairdresser. They may advise you differently with regards to your hair type, but a good hairdresser should be able to make it work for you. If they can’t then maybe you should see someone else.
The Right Cut For You
One very important thing is to make sure that the hairstyle suits you and your lifestyle. You need to consider how it will go down with the people that you work with and also how it will match with your wardrobe. Having something radical can be a lot of fun, but you need to consider the consequences. It could be a huge positive change for you, but it may not. It may be worth discussing your ideas with a few work colleagues or friends first, just to make sure that it will work for you.
Of course, hair does grow and you can change the colour, so some experimentation is not permanently harmful. You could even wear a wig if it looks that bad! But hopefully, if you make the right choice in the first place and find a good hairdresser, then you should find that your hair looks really great when you have it cut.
