There are many nutritional factors pertaining to nuts. The have loads of benefits within them that we cannot help ourselves by choosing just one. Just enjoying these nuts as a snack but adding them in daily life is so effortless and easy to do.
Pecans—One of the most simplistic ways to add pecans to any diet is to sprinkle them over the food, (either whole or lightly chopped). With this recipe, it shows how easy to use of all natural nuts can be eaten at the table. A substitute for this salad is to use walnuts instead of pecans as the taste is often enjoyed.
CRANBERRY PECAN SALAD
What are the Ingredients required?
½ cup pecan halves
1 Tablespoon of raspberry vinaigrette ¼ teaspoon of Dijon mustard ¼ teaspoon of sugar.
¼ teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of Olive Oil 3 cups of salad greens (washed and dried) ½ cup dried cranberries ¼ thinly sliced red onion crumbled feta cheese (can substitute Bri).
Since most Pecans are bought in their dried state, they must be toasted to achieve the optimum potential
*preheat oven to 400 degrees. Place nuts onto a baking sheet and space apart. Toast for 10 minutes or until brown.
*In a bowl stir together the raspberry vinaigrette salt, sugar and mustard. Do so until salt and sugar dissolve. Add in pepper while stirring. When fully mixed -whisk in Olive Oil slowly.
*In a larger salad bowl mix the greens, cranberries, pecans, onions and the feta choice. Pour the mixed vinaigrette over the top and toss till lightly coated.
Almonds—with this simplistic bread recipe it is easy to see that adding in almost or any substitute can give an easy prep time, a somewhat longer baking time and a total outcome for all to enjoy. By adding chocolate and cherries this sweet yeast bread will taste just as good as any cake by the same name.
BLACK FOREST BREAD
What Ingredients Will Be Needed?
1 cup water
2 tablespoons of butter or substitute (can use veg. Oil if wanting to) 1 egg, large
½ teaspoon of salt
¼ cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of almost extract (substitute black walnuts extract if desired) 3 cups of bread flour 3 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder 3 tablespoons of non-fat dry milk powder 1 teaspoon instant yeast ¾ cut of sweet or semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/3 cup of whole maraschino cherries (drain fully on paper towel or drying board).
*add water, butter, egg, salt, almonds, sugar, bread flour, dry milk, cocoa powder and yeast to any bread machine.
*after dough is mixed scrape down sides of pan with a spatula (this ensures everything is mixed).
Then put into pan and set the oven at 425 degrees.
*Add in chocolate chips and cherries in intervals (Approx. every 20 to 30 minutes). If the chocolate is in chunks- then this will allow for small pockets of chocolate to break off in pieces while enjoying this bread. (Makes One Loaf).
